Radostin Stoytchev is a Bulgarian volleyball coach whose name is closely associated with the rise of Trentino Volley into a dominant international club. He is the head coach of Halkbank Ankara for the 2026–27 season, remaining in charge after returning to the Turkish club for the 2025–26 campaign. His earlier Halkbank tenure had already produced domestic trophies and a Champions League final, so the current assignment reconnects him with a club where he previously worked at the peak of European competition.
Stoytchev’s defining coaching period came with Trentino, where he led teams that won three consecutive CEV Champions League titles from 2009 through 2011 and four consecutive FIVB Club World Championships from 2009 through 2012, alongside Italian league and cup trophies. Those results made Trentino one of the benchmark club teams of its era. Stoytchev also had a brief spell as Bulgaria’s men’s national-team head coach in 2012 and later coached in Italy, Turkey and Poland. His teams have often been linked with strong serve-and-block pressure and clear competitive structure, but the more durable evidence of his coaching identity is the repeated success of club systems built to compete across domestic and international calendars. The Halkbank role gives him another opportunity to apply that experience in a title-driven environment.
