Raúl Lozano is an Argentine volleyball coach whose long international career has been built largely in European and Asian men’s volleyball. He is the head coach of Ukraine’s men’s national team in the 2026 cycle, a role he took on in 2024. Ukraine won the 2024 European Golden League under his direction, giving the program an immediate result during a period in which its players and staff have had to operate under unusually difficult national circumstances. Lozano remained in charge for the 2026 European Championship.
His reputation was established much earlier through national-team work with Poland and Germany and club assignments in Italy, Greece, Poland and Iran. Lozano led Poland to the silver medal at the 2006 FIVB World Championship, one of the most important results in the country’s modern return to the top of men’s volleyball. He later coached Germany, winning the 2009 European League, and also had a spell as Iran’s national-team head coach. Across those jobs, his career has been defined less by attachment to one domestic system than by repeated federation appointments where the task was to organize and elevate an established player pool. The Ukraine role extends that pattern and keeps one of the sport’s most experienced Argentine coaches active at European national-team level.
