Incheon Heungkuk Life Pink Spiders is one of the best-known clubs in Korean women’s volleyball, combining a long company-team lineage with a large modern fan base. Backed by Heungkuk Life and based at Incheon Samsan World Gymnasium, the Pink Spiders have won multiple V-League championships and have regularly featured many of Korea’s most recognizable players. The club’s visibility grew especially during the long association with Kim Yeon-koung, but its history predates her career and extends through several competitive generations, coaching changes and title cycles.
The post-Kim Yeon-koung era is now led by Japanese head coach Tomoko Yoshihara, with veteran middle blocker Kim Su-ji serving as captain for 2026–27. That transition gives the club a clear contemporary challenge: preserving its standards and supporter expectations while creating an identity that is not dependent on one retired superstar. The Pink Spiders entered this phase from a position of recent success, including the 2024–25 championship, and continue to play in one of the league’s strongest home environments. Their profile therefore combines historic stature, a prominent Incheon base and an ongoing attempt to renew a title-winning culture across generations. The scale of the supporter base means rebuilding seasons are followed with the same intensity as championship runs, keeping expectations unusually high.
