Sheilla Castro is a retired Brazilian opposite who was the primary terminal attacker for Brazil’s back-to-back Olympic championship teams at Beijing 2008 and London 2012. Her left-side-of-the-right-pin scoring, serve and composure in high-pressure matches made her one of the most successful opposites of her generation.
Sheilla also won multiple World Grand Prix titles and World Championship medals while playing professionally in Brazil and Italy. After returning to the national-team environment late in her career, she announced her retirement from competitive volleyball in 2022.
