Cristian Savani is a retired Italian outside hitter whose athletic attacking and back-row scoring made him a fixture of the national team through the 2000s and early 2010s. He captained Italy during part of that period and helped the Azzurri win bronze at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Savani also collected back-to-back European Championship titles in 2003 and 2005 and built a long club career in Italy and abroad. He announced his retirement from competitive volleyball in 2020 after nearly two decades at professional level.
