Karsta Lowe is an American opposite whose peak international years combined explosive left-handed attacking with one of the most decorated collegiate résumés of her generation. A UCLA standout, she led NCAA Division I in kills per set and points per set as a senior and moved quickly into the U.S. national-team system, where her height and terminal scoring made her a high-impact option from the bench or starting lineup.
Lowe won bronze with the United States at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and was named MVP of the 2015 FIVB World Grand Prix. She also played professionally in Puerto Rico, Italy and China. Her career is remembered for the unusual speed of her rise from college volleyball to major international events and for the scoring bursts she provided in high-pressure matches.
