Hilir Henno is a French outside hitter whose development has moved quickly from elite college volleyball in the United States into the European professional game and the senior France program. At UC Irvine, the 2.03-meter attacker became one of the most productive players in the NCAA, combining a heavy jump serve with the ability to score from both the front row and back row. His 2024 season brought AVCA National Collegiate Player of the Year honors, while his international youth résumé already included a 2024 European U22 title with France and individual recognition as one of the tournament’s leading outside hitters.
Henno’s first senior European club season with BOGDANKA LUK Lublin placed him in a high-level Polish environment that demanded more than terminal attacking. He was used as a six-rotation outside hitter, contributing in serve reception as well as at the net, and was part of a 2025–26 campaign that included the Polish Cup and a league runner-up finish. His height and serving pressure give him natural point-scoring tools, but his long-term value is tied just as closely to first-contact stability and the range to attack high balls when a rally moves away from ideal system.
For the 2026–27 club season, Henno moved to Shanghai Bright after his year in Lublin. He has also been integrated into France’s senior national-team pool, giving him a pathway from a decorated youth career into one of the deepest international programs in men’s volleyball.
