Megabox Ond. Savio Vallefoglia produced the first major result of Serie A1’s second round with a 3–2 home win over Savino Del Bene Scandicci, while Prosecco Doc A.Carraro Imoco Conegliano stayed perfect with a 3–0 victory over Laica UYBA Busto Arsizio.

The two Saturday matches offered very different versions of an early-season result: Vallefoglia survived a full five-set swing, while Conegliano controlled most of their evening and moved to two wins from two.

Vallefoglia survive Scandicci’s comeback

Vallefoglia took the first two sets 25–22 and 25–23, building the early advantage behind strong attacking production from Bici and Alice Bolzonetti. Scandicci responded through a more aggressive third and fourth set, winning 25–20 and 25–19 to force a tiebreak.

The fifth stayed close until the end, but Vallefoglia finished the match 15–13. Bolzonetti ended with 27 points and was named MVP, while Bici added 21. For Scandicci, Kiera Van Ryk scored 24, with Avery Skinner and Lucia Bosetti contributing 15 each.

It is already Scandicci’s second five-set defeat in two league matches. According to the league, the two points collected from those tiebreak losses represent the club’s weakest start since 2019–20.

Conegliano take care of business

At Palaverde, Conegliano needed no tiebreak. The defending Italian champions opened with a 25–9 first set against Busto Arsizio and then closed the match 25–21, 27–25.

The night also marked an earlier-than-expected return to the starting lineup for captain Joanna Wołosz. Opposite Isabelle Haak finished as the match’s top scorer with 18 points, including four blocks and two aces.

Busto improved significantly after the opening set and made the third competitive, but Conegliano still converted the match in straight sets in front of roughly 5,000 spectators.

The table starts to take shape

Conegliano’s second three-point win keeps them at the front of the early race, while Vallefoglia’s two-point tiebreak victory gives them another valuable result before the rest of round two is completed on Sunday.
