WRITE FOR US

Bring a sharper volleyball story to the page

We welcome pitches from coaches, players, writers and well-informed supporters who can explain something they know closely and support it with evidence.

Good volleyball writing does more than repeat a result or collect familiar advice. It shows the reader what mattered, how a decision worked or why a player, team or piece of equipment deserves a closer look. We are interested in original reporting, practical knowledge and arguments that leave room for the complexity of the sport.

WHAT WE PUBLISH

Three useful ways into the game

01TACTICS & COACHING

Explain the decision, not just the diagram

Rotation and system breakdowns, position-specific skills, match analysis and coaching ideas grounded in the level, personnel and situation being discussed.

02GEAR

Reviews based on time on court

Shoes, balls, knee pads and other equipment assessed through real use. Tell readers who the product may suit, where it falls short and what you compared it with.

03PEOPLE & COMPETITION

Profiles, histories and argued viewpoints

Reported player stories, overlooked careers, league culture and clearly framed opinion. Strong claims should be supported rather than presented as settled fact.

CONTRIBUTOR GUIDELINES

What a Volleybond draft should bring

Original work

The article must be yours and must not have appeared elsewhere. We do not publish mass-generated, lightly rewritten or search-first copy that adds no reporting or experience.

Evidence and disclosure

Link to sources for factual claims. Disclose relevant club, brand or commercial relationships, and do not present rumours as confirmed information.

A readable structure

Use a clear opening, useful headings and paragraphs with a natural rhythm. Most accepted features will fall between 800 and 1,500 words, but the subject should determine the length.

A voice with judgement

Write with confidence where the evidence allows it and qualification where it does not. Tactical and gear recommendations should acknowledge that players, levels and coaching approaches differ.

PITCH FIRST

Send the idea before the draft

A short pitch lets us check whether the subject fits the current editorial plan before you commit time to a full article.
