Current club and international listings consistently place Mitrovic at 187 cm. Her 2024 CEV Cup roster listed her at 72 kg with a 314 cm spike reach, while secondary career databases also record 314 cm. Published block-reach figures vary substantially between databases, so they are less useful as a settled measurement.

Praia Clube’s current player roster lists Mitrovic as No. 11, 187 cm and from Mississauga. Volleyball Canada currently uses Etobicoke as her hometown, while both Buffalo and Arizona State identified her with Mississauga during her NCAA career.

Early Life & Volleyball Beginnings

Mitrovic grew up in the Greater Toronto Area and attended Silverthorn Collegiate Institute.

She was a multi-sport athlete before reaching high-level volleyball. Her Buffalo biography records experience in basketball, soccer, flag football and softball, while volleyball developed through the Ontario club system with Etobicoke 381.

Mitrovic trained with Canada’s Youth National Development Program and earned Ontario Volleyball Association All-Star recognition at both 17U and 18U level.

Her final high-school season included an 18–1 record at Silverthorn, setting up a move into NCAA Division I volleyball.

Family sport and competition were also part of her background. Her parents are Ljubomir and Dusanka Mitrovic, and her Arizona State biography lists four older siblings: Srdjan, Milan, Ivana and Sladjana.

Breakthrough at Buffalo

Mitrovic began her NCAA career at the University at Buffalo in 2017.

She played all 106 sets as a freshman and finished second on the team with 378 kills and 306 digs. Those numbers came with 14 double-doubles and earned her a place on the All-MAC Freshman Team.

The combination of attacking and defensive volume already resembled the two-way outside-hitter role she would later carry professionally.

Her second season produced a major step forward.

Mitrovic led Buffalo with 474 kills, added 317 digs and earned 2018 All-MAC First Team recognition. Buffalo’s conference awards announcement also credited her with leading the MAC in kills and points per set during the regular season.

One match became an enduring school record.

Against Kent State, Mitrovic recorded 34 kills, breaking a Buffalo single-match record that had stood for 23 years. She added 16 digs and four blocks in the five-set victory.

The performance was part of a season in which she produced eight matches with at least 20 kills and was named MAC East Player of the Week five times.

Transfer to Arizona State

Mitrovic transferred to Arizona State University in January 2019.

Her move coincided with another major development: she was invited into Canada’s senior national-team program that summer.

The two environments overlapped throughout the year. Mitrovic spent the international season training and competing with Canada before returning to Arizona State for the Pac-12 campaign.

She played every match for the Sun Devils and led the team with 344 kills. Her Arizona State season profile also records a .257 hitting percentage, 20 aces and 178 digs.

Mitrovic reached double figures in kills 18 times and led ASU with 19 kills against Arizona. She also produced 20 kills at a .395 percentage against California and 19 kills while hitting .515 against Texas A&M–Corpus Christi.

The season completed three NCAA years in which she had been asked to score heavily while remaining involved in serve reception and floor defense.

Club Career

Professional Start in Romania

Mitrovic began her professional career during the 2020–21 season with CSU Medicina Târgu Mureș in Romania.

The move came after her NCAA career and her first season with Canada’s senior national team.

Romania provided her first experience of the European professional calendar before she moved into a stronger Greek league environment the following year.

AO Thiras and the First Individual Professional Awards

Mitrovic joined AO Thiras Santorini for 2021–22.

The Greek federation’s transfer announcement was published on her birthday while she was simultaneously competing for Canada in the VNL.

With AO Thiras, Mitrovic won the Nomikeia tournament and received both MVP and Best Outside Hitter recognition.

The season became her first professional campaign to produce prominent individual awards and established her as a primary outside attacker rather than simply a young overseas signing.

CEV records from the period list her as No. 12 for AO Thiras and confirm her first European Cup participation with the Santorini club.

Karayolları in Türkiye

Mitrovic moved to Karayolları Spor Kulübü for 2022–23.

The Ankara club competed in Türkiye’s second tier during the season, and Mitrovic helped Karayolları finish second in the Kadınlar 1. Ligi.

The year added another demanding volleyball environment to her career. Türkiye’s professional system required her to combine scoring with the serve-receive workload expected of a full-time outside hitter.

It also prepared her for another move into European cup competition.

CEV Cup Semifinal with Budowlani Łódź

Mitrovic joined Grot Budowlani Łódź in Poland for 2023–24.

The Polish season became her deepest run in a major European club competition.

Budowlani advanced to the CEV Cup semifinals, where the club met Viteos Neuchâtel UC. CEV’s official semifinal record documents the Polish side reaching the last four before Neuchâtel advanced to the final.

Mitrovic wore No. 12 for Budowlani in the competition.

The official CEV roster also provides one of the more detailed physical profiles from her European career, listing a 314 cm spike reach and 72 kg playing weight.

China and Vietnam

The 2024–25 club year took Mitrovic outside Europe.

She played with Shenzhen Zhongsai in China and later with Binh chủng Thông tin in Vietnam.

The Vietnamese stint added two podium finishes. LOVB’s later career profile credits her with silver medals at both the Hoa Lu Cup and Hung Vuong Cup.

Those seasons extended a professional path that had already included five European countries and placed Mitrovic in several very different tactical environments.

Her next move brought her back to North America.

LOVB Madison

Mitrovic signed with LOVB Madison for the 2026 League One Volleyball season.

LOVB’s announcement of the signing presented her as a Canadian national-team outside with professional experience across Romania, Greece, Türkiye, Poland, China and Vietnam.

The season gave Mitrovic a sustained role in a U.S. professional league for the first time since leaving NCAA volleyball.

One of her strongest matches came against LOVB Austin in February.

Mitrovic recorded 21 kills while hitting .543, giving Madison one of its best attacking performances of the season despite a five-set defeat.

A later five-set win over Nebraska showed the other side of her game. She finished with 19 kills, two aces, one block and 15 digs as Madison earned an important victory.

Those performances were consistent with her college profile: Mitrovic could carry high attack volume without becoming a one-dimensional front-row player.

Moving to Dentil/Praia Clube

After the LOVB season and Canada’s 2026 international campaign, Mitrovic signed with Dentil/Praia Clube in Brazil.

Praia’s 2026–27 signing announcement identified the Canadian as one of the club’s new outside hitters and highlighted her physical attacking presence.

The move added Brazil to an already unusually broad club résumé.

Mitrovic joined a Praia team coming off the 2025–26 Brazilian Superliga championship. The club’s outside-hitter group for the new season includes Mitrovic, Sofya Kuznetsova, Michelle Pavão and Drussyla.

She wears No. 11, matching her national-team number.

Praia opened the 2026–27 Superliga on October 21 with a straight-set win over Pinheiros. Mitrovic scored the attack that closed the opening set as she began her first Brazilian league campaign.

National Team Career

Joining Canada’s Senior Program in 2019

Mitrovic entered Canada’s senior national-team setup in 2019 while she was transferring from Buffalo to Arizona State.

Arizona State’s national-team announcement listed her among the Senior A Squad after previous experience in Canada’s youth development system.

Her first summer became important immediately.

Canada won the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Challenger Cup in Lima, Peru, earning promotion into the Volleyball Nations League.

The championship changed the competitive level of Canada’s annual international schedule. Instead of remaining primarily in continental and Challenger-level events, the program would begin facing the world’s leading teams every summer.

Mitrovic was also part of Canada’s Olympic qualification campaign later in 2019.

Canada’s First VNL Season

The 2020 VNL was cancelled during the COVID-19 pandemic, delaying Canada’s debut in the tournament until 2021.

Mitrovic was selected for the historic first roster.

FIVB’s 2021 roster announcement included her among Canada’s outside hitters alongside Alexa Gray, Hilary Howe, Carolina Livingston and Parker Austin.

Canada’s first VNL season provided a difficult but valuable introduction to the top annual international competition.

Later that year, Mitrovic was part of the Canadian group that earned bronze at the NORCECA Championship.

That medal began a run of continental podiums during her senior national-team career.

World Championship and NORCECA Experience

Mitrovic remained involved in the Canadian program through the following Olympic cycle.

She was part of the 2022 World Championship campaign and continued appearing in the VNL as Canada gradually improved its world ranking.

At the 2023 NORCECA Championship in Quebec City, Mitrovic wore No. 11 and contributed during Canada’s bronze-medal run.

The team defeated Cuba in the third-place match to secure another continental podium and qualification for the following World Championship.

Mitrovic was also selected for Canada’s 2023 Olympic qualification tournament in China.

Canada ultimately missed the Paris 2024 Games, but the program entered the next cycle with a broader roster and increasingly competitive results against top-ranked opponents.

A Larger Role in 2025

The 2025 season gave Mitrovic one of her most visible international roles.

She was selected for Canada’s VNL campaign and reached double figures during several matches.

In the final preliminary match against the United States, Volleyball World recorded 11 points from Mitrovic as Canada pushed its North American rival in a five-set contest.

The World Championship later that summer brought an even stronger individual performance.

Canada opened the tournament against Bulgaria, and Mitrovic scored a team-high 17 points: 16 kills and one ace in a 3–1 victory.

Canada advanced from pool play and reached the Round of 16.

The tournament ended with a straight-set loss to the United States, but the top-16 finish gave a comparatively young Canadian roster another major-championship knockout appearance.

Canada Reaches the VNL Finals in 2026

Mitrovic returned for the 2026 VNL under head coach Giovanni Guidetti.

Her role was different from the high-volume responsibility carried by Kiera Van Ryk and Alexa Gray, but she remained part of the outside-hitter rotation throughout the competition.

Volleyball World’s 2026 statistics credit Mitrovic with 45 points: 40 attacks, four blocks and one ace.

Canada finished the preliminary phase at 8–4.

That record sent the team to the VNL Finals for the first time in program history.

Volleyball Canada’s Finals roster retained Mitrovic as one of the outside hitters for the quarterfinal against Türkiye.

Canada lost the quarterfinal, but qualifying among the final eight marked a significant step beyond the program’s previous VNL results.

First NORCECA Gold and Olympic Qualification

The 2026 international season continued with the NORCECA Championship in the Dominican Republic.

Canada went through the tournament unbeaten and defeated the United States 3–2 in the final.

The victory produced the first NORCECA Women’s Continental Championship gold medal in Canadian history. The official NORCECA championship report recorded Canada finishing the event with a 5–0 record.

Mitrovic remained on the roster for the Olympic qualification tournament that followed.

Canada again went undefeated and faced the Dominican Republic for the available Los Angeles 2028 Olympic place.

A 3–1 victory secured qualification.

Volleyball Canada’s Olympic qualification report lists Mitrovic among the roster that ended Canada’s 32-year absence from the Olympic women’s indoor tournament.

The result connected Mitrovic’s career to both ends of Canada’s modern rise: she had been part of the 2019 Challenger Cup team that earned entry into the VNL system and the 2026 team that finally secured an Olympic berth.

Playing Style & Strengths

Mitrovic’s strongest evidence-backed trait is her ability to function as a true two-way outside hitter rather than only as a front-row scorer.

Her college record established that profile early.

As a Buffalo freshman she combined 378 kills with 306 digs and recorded 14 double-doubles. A year later she produced 474 kills and another 317 digs while leading the MAC in attacking volume.

That balance has remained visible professionally.

Her 2026 LOVB performance against Nebraska is a useful example: 19 kills and 15 digs in the same five-set match. It showed that her offensive responsibility did not remove her from the defensive workload expected from an outside hitter.

Mitrovic also has enough terminal attacking power to become a primary scorer when the matchup demands it.

Against Austin in LOVB, she converted 21 kills at a .543 hitting percentage, one of the most efficient high-volume matches of her U.S. professional season.

At the 2025 World Championship, she produced another example under international pressure, leading Canada with 17 points against Bulgaria.

Her listed 314 cm spike reach helps explain part of that attacking profile. At 187 cm, she is not dependent purely on height; the reach allows her to contact above the block and work effectively against both line and cross-court defenses.

The broader pattern across Buffalo, Arizona State, Canada and her professional clubs is adaptability.

Mitrovic has played in systems where she was the main attacker and others where the offense was distributed around several established scorers. She has also competed in leagues with very different serving, blocking and tempo profiles.

That experience matters in reception.

An outside hitter changing from NCAA volleyball to Greece, Türkiye, Poland, Asia, LOVB and Brazil must repeatedly adjust to different service pressures and offensive speeds. Mitrovic’s career has demanded that adjustment more often than players who spend long periods inside one league.

Her current role with Praia should again require a balanced outside-hitter game. The Brazilian champions have multiple attacking options, meaning Mitrovic’s value can come from maintaining reception stability, scoring in transition and giving the setter another physical option on the left antenna rather than carrying every high ball herself.

Personal Life & Interests

Mitrovic grew up in a large family.

Her parents are Ljubomir and Dusanka Mitrovic, and Arizona State lists four older siblings: Srdjan, Milan, Ivana and Sladjana.

Sport was a broad part of her childhood rather than an early single-sport specialization. Before focusing fully on volleyball, she also played basketball, soccer, flag football and softball.

Her Canadian development began in Ontario through Etobicoke 381 and the national youth-development pathway, while her decision to attend Buffalo kept her geographically close to home during the first part of her NCAA career.

The later move to Arizona State represented a much larger geographic change and coincided with her transition into Canada’s senior program.

Since turning professional, that willingness to move has become one of the defining practical features of her career. By 2026, Mitrovic had played club volleyball in eight countries outside Canada, adapting to European, Asian, U.S. and South American volleyball systems before the age of 28.

Where Is Andrea Mitrovic Playing Now?

As of October 25, 2026, Andrea Mitrovic plays for Dentil/Praia Clube in Brazil’s Superliga and remains an active member of the Canada Women’s National Volleyball Team.

Praia Clube lists her as No. 11 and one of four outside hitters on its 2026–27 roster.

She joined the Brazilian champions after spending the 2026 LOVB season with Madison. Praia’s new campaign includes the Brazilian Superliga and domestic cup competitions, with South American competition also on the club calendar.

Mitrovic’s first Superliga match came on October 21, when Praia defeated Pinheiros 3–0 in Uberlândia.

Internationally, she also wears No. 11 for Canada.

Her latest national-team season included Canada’s first VNL Finals appearance, its first NORCECA Championship title and qualification for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
