Fenerbahçe Medicana beat Galatasaray Daikin 3–0 at TVF Burhan Felek Vestel Voleybol Salonu on November 1, taking the sets 25–22, 25–18 and 25–18. The derby lasted 84 minutes in front of an announced crowd of 4,200 and moved Fenerbahçe to five wins from five league matches.
Arina Fedorovtseva led Fenerbahçe with 16 points. Melissa Vargas scored 15 and Sinead Jack-Kısal added 10. Galatasaray had the match’s top individual scorer in Vita Akimova, who finished with 17, but the home side received much less scoring from the rest of its lineup.
Fenerbahçe also finished ahead in the main team totals: 42 attack points to Galatasaray’s 29, eight aces to five and seven blocks to five.
Alessia Orro started at setter for Fenerbahçe, with Fedorovtseva and Ana Cristina on the wings, Vargas at opposite, Eda Erdem and Jack-Kısal in the middle, and Gizem Örge at libero. Galatasaray opened with Britt Bongaerts, İlkin Aydın, Myriam Sylla, Vita Akimova, Yasemin Güveli, Janset Cemre Erkul and Ayça Aykaç. Both teams used substitutions, but the core scoring pattern remained the same: Akimova carried Galatasaray, while Fenerbahçe spread points across the lineup.
Fenerbahçe take the close first set
The opening set was the tightest part of the derby. Galatasaray stayed with Fenerbahçe deep into the set before the visitors closed it 25–22.
In Fenerbahçe’s post-match comments, captain Eda Erdem said the team made some basic errors and did not always find its serving rhythm. Gizem Örge also referred to mistakes early in sets before the team settled. Both pointed to a stronger finish rather than a clean start from the first rally.
Galatasaray pushed the visitors to 22 points before Fenerbahçe closed the set. It was the only set of the match decided by fewer than seven points. Galatasaray had to chase from there.
Serving gives Fenerbahçe another route to points
Fenerbahçe did not rely only on Vargas and Fedorovtseva in attack. The official match statistics show eight service aces for the visitors, compared with five for Galatasaray.
Fedorovtseva and Vargas each served three aces. Eda Erdem added two. Those eight points account for Fenerbahçe’s entire ace total and gave the visitors direct scoring from three different rotations.
A Fenerbahçe match recap noted that Fedorovtseva’s serving helped the visitors move ahead early in the second set, before Vargas applied more pressure from the line later in the set. Fenerbahçe won it 25–18.
Galatasaray also found points from serve. İlkin Aydın had three aces and setter Britt Bongaerts had two. The difference was that Fenerbahçe paired its serving with a larger attack total. The visitors scored 42 points in attack; Galatasaray finished with 29.
The third set ended with the same 25–18 score. Fenerbahçe’s recap recorded the visitors moving from behind to a 13–11 lead before widening the margin. Galatasaray did not force a fourth set.
Fedorovtseva and Vargas lead a deeper scoring group
Fedorovtseva’s 16 points came from 13 attacks and three aces. Vargas had 12 attack points and three aces for her 15.
Fenerbahçe then had useful production through the middle. Jack-Kısal scored 10 points, including four blocks, and converted six of her eight recorded attacks. Eda finished with nine points: five in attack, two blocks and two aces. Ana Cristina de Souza added seven.

Akimova carried the largest share of Galatasaray’s attack. She scored 16 of the team’s 29 attack points and added one block. İlkin Aydın finished with six total points, Myriam Sylla with five, Janset Cemre Erkul with four and Yasemin Güveli with three.
Five Fenerbahçe players finished with at least seven points. Galatasaray had only Akimova above six.
The block numbers were closer than the final score. Fenerbahçe won that category 7–5. Jack-Kısal supplied four of those seven blocks herself. The larger gap came in attack, where Fenerbahçe finished 13 points ahead.
Galatasaray get 17 from Akimova but little room elsewhere
Galatasaray’s official club report identified Akimova as the home team’s leading scorer with 17 points. She remained productive even as Fenerbahçe took control of the match.
The problem was not Akimova’s output. Galatasaray needed more points around her. Sylla had five points from 19 recorded attacks, while İlkin’s six-point total included three aces. The home team finished with 39 player points in the official box score; Fenerbahçe had 57.
Galatasaray served five aces and stayed within three points in the opening set. The next two sets ended 25–18, with Fenerbahçe scoring through several rotations rather than depending on Vargas or Fedorovtseva for every point.
Fenerbahçe move to 5–0; Galatasaray fall to 2–4
The win kept Fenerbahçe unbeaten in league play. After Round 6, the official competition table listed the club second with 14 points from five matches and a 5–0 record. Galatasaray stood eighth with eight points from six matches, two wins and four defeats.
The schedule turns quickly for both teams. TVF’s Round 7 program has Galatasaray away to Manisa Büyükşehir Belediyespor on November 4. Fenerbahçe return to Burhan Felek on November 5 to face Sinnada Hotels Afyon Belediye Yüntaş.
