About the coach

The coaching career of Renan Dal Zotto

Renan Dal Zotto is a Brazilian volleyball coach and one of the country’s most distinguished former outside hitters. For the 2026–27 season he is the head coach of Incheon Korean Air Jumbos in South Korea’s V-League, adding a new Asian chapter to a career long associated with Brazil and Italian volleyball. His coaching record is anchored by his tenure with Brazil’s men’s national team from 2017 to 2023, during which the team won the 2019 FIVB World Cup and the 2021 Volleyball Nations League among other major podium finishes.

Before becoming a coach, Renan was a central figure in Brazil’s influential ‘Silver Generation.’ He played at four Olympic Games and won silver at Los Angeles 1984, as well as silver at the 1982 World Championship. His club career later took him to Italy, where he won major domestic and European titles with Parma and Ravenna. That elite playing background carried into coaching and federation work, including club assignments in Brazil and a long relationship with the national program. Renan’s 2015 induction into the International Volleyball Hall of Fame recognized his playing career, but his later work on the bench added a second layer to his volleyball identity. The Korean Air appointment now places that experience inside one of Asia’s most competitive professional leagues.
