Perugia has become the defining club of Oleh Plotnytskyi’s professional career. The Ukrainian outside hitter, born in 1997, entered the Italian league with Monza before joining Sir Susa Scai Perugia for the 2019–20 season. By 2026, Perugia had extended his contract for two more years, positioning him to reach nine consecutive seasons with the club and underlining the continuity he has built at one of Europe’s leading teams.
Plotnytskyi is a left-handed outside hitter, a detail that changes some of the attacking and serving angles opponents have to manage. His position also requires reception and back-row defense, so his value is not limited to the powerful serve and front-row attack for which he is widely recognized. Volleyball World lists him at 190 cm, while some club and CEV records use a taller figure. The more durable characteristic is his technical profile: a six-rotation wing who can pressure teams from the service line while remaining part of the passing structure.
He returned to Ukraine’s senior program for the 2026 international season and helped the team reach the VNL Final Eight for the first time before playing at EuroVolley. That national-team return ran alongside his renewed Perugia commitment. The combination makes Plotnytskyi one of the clearer links between Ukraine’s international ambitions and the highest level of European club volleyball, with experience accumulated through repeated seasons rather than a short-term transfer cycle.
