Samuele Papi is a retired Italian outside hitter whose reception, defense and intelligent attacking made him one of the enduring figures of Italy’s golden generations. He won four Olympic medals—two silver and two bronze—across appearances stretching from Atlanta 1996 to London 2012.
Papi also won World Championship titles in 1994 and 1998 and three European Championships with Italy. His club career was defined by long successful periods with Sisley Treviso and later Piacenza, where his complete wing play remained valuable deep into his thirties.
