Taylor Sander is an American volleyball athlete who built an elite indoor career before moving full-time to beach volleyball in 2022. As an indoor outside hitter, the former BYU star became an AVCA Player of the Year, represented the United States at the 2016 and 2020 Olympic Games and won bronze in Rio. His jump serve and explosive attacking made him one of the most dynamic U.S. wing players of his era.
On the beach, Sander has remained active on the AVP circuit, adapting his all-around skills to the two-player discipline. The transition changed the tactical demands on him—every serve, set, block and defensive read matters—but preserved the athletic qualities that defined his indoor career. He is therefore notable both as an Olympic indoor medalist and as a high-level crossover athlete in American beach volleyball.
