LOVB Miami is the South Florida expansion club that completed League One Volleyball’s ten-team professional lineup for the 2026–27 season. Its launch gives Miami a top-level women’s indoor volleyball team in a market with strong international links to Latin America and the Caribbean, regions where volleyball has deep competitive traditions. Brazilian coach Paulo Coco leads the club after a career that included major responsibilities with Brazil’s national team and elite club programs. The appointment gives a new franchise an experienced international voice from the start and reinforces the global character of a league built around athletes and coaches from many of the sport’s strongest countries.
Miami’s identity is still being written, so its bootstrap story is best understood through its role in LOVB’s expansion rather than through an artificial history of results. The team joins an ecosystem that combines professional competition with a large national junior-club network and will have to establish its own supporter base, local partnerships and match-day traditions. South Florida’s multicultural population gives the club room to connect with volleyball communities that already follow the international game closely. In that sense, LOVB Miami is both a new local sports property and a test of how effectively the league can translate worldwide volleyball interest into sustained professional support in a major U.S. market.
