Early Life & Volleyball Beginnings
Kamil Semeniuk was born on 16 July 1996 in Kędzierzyn-Koźle, a city in southern Poland with an established volleyball tradition. The city is home to ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle, one of the country’s most successful professional clubs, and Semeniuk’s development became closely associated with the team’s youth and senior programs.
Growing up in the same city as ZAKSA gave him a direct route into an established professional volleyball environment. He progressed through the club’s development system and joined its senior squad in 2015, beginning a career in the Polish PlusLiga at a time when ZAKSA was regularly competing for domestic titles.
His first professional seasons involved adapting to the technical and physical demands of senior volleyball, particularly the dual responsibilities of an outside hitter. Unlike an opposite hitter, who is generally more specialized in attacking, an outside hitter must contribute consistently to serve reception while remaining available as an attacking option. Semeniuk developed in a system where both skills were important.
Although his association with ZAKSA began in his hometown, his development also included time away from the club. A season with Aluron Virtu Warta Zawiercie gave him additional professional experience before he returned to Kędzierzyn-Koźle and became a regular contributor during one of the strongest periods in ZAKSA’s history.

Club Career
ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle: Early Professional Years, 2015–2018
Semeniuk entered the senior ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle setup in 2015 and made his PlusLiga debut during the 2015–16 season. The club was competing at the highest level of Polish volleyball, giving the young outside hitter experience in a championship environment early in his professional career.
ZAKSA won the Polish Championship in both 2015–16 and 2016–17. Semeniuk was part of the squad during those seasons, although his role was still developing alongside more established players. These early years introduced him to the standards expected of a team competing for domestic championships and places in major European competitions.
He continued developing his reception, serving and attacking while competing for playing time. His first stint at ZAKSA was therefore important not only because of the titles associated with the club but also because it provided his initial experience of senior professional volleyball.
Aluron Virtu Warta Zawiercie: The 2018–19 Season
For the 2018–19 season, Semeniuk moved to Aluron Virtu Warta Zawiercie, another Polish PlusLiga club. The transfer offered a different competitive environment and greater opportunities to establish himself beyond the squad in which he had developed.
At Zawiercie, he gained additional court time and experience against established PlusLiga opponents. That period helped him develop the consistency required to handle the workload of an outside hitter over a full league season, including the demands of serve reception, transition attacking and defensive positioning.

The move proved to be a relatively short stage in his career, but it preceded his return to ZAKSA in 2019. By then, he had accumulated more senior experience and was better positioned to compete for a significant role in his hometown club’s lineup.
Return to ZAKSA and European Breakthrough, 2019–2022
Semeniuk returned to ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle for the 2019–20 season and gradually became one of the team’s most important outside hitters. During this second spell, ZAKSA combined domestic success with consecutive victories in Europe’s leading club competition.
The 2020–21 campaign marked a major step forward. ZAKSA won the Polish Cup and defeated Italy’s Itas Trentino in the CEV Champions League final, claiming the club’s first title in the competition. Semeniuk’s role in the team extended beyond attacking: his reception and defensive contributions were particularly important in a system that depended on reliable first contact and efficient distribution.
ZAKSA repeated its European triumph in 2021–22, again overcoming Trentino in the Champions League final. Semeniuk was named the competition’s Most Valuable Player, recognizing his performances during the title-winning campaign. That season, he also helped ZAKSA secure the Polish Championship and Polish Cup.
His 2022 Champions League performances demonstrated the range of his game. In a group-stage victory over OK Merkur Maribor, he scored 16 points, including six service aces, showing how his serving could become a decisive attacking weapon. Across the campaign, he contributed through a combination of aggressive serving, wing attacking and reception.

By the time he left ZAKSA in 2022, Semeniuk had won three Polish Championships and two CEV Champions League titles with the club. The move ended a long association with his hometown team and opened his first professional chapter outside Poland.
Sir Safety Perugia: Move to Italy in 2022
In June 2022, Semeniuk joined Sir Safety Perugia, entering Italy’s SuperLega after establishing himself as one of the leading outside hitters in Polish and European club volleyball. The move placed him in another team competing for national and international titles, alongside players with experience at the highest levels of the sport.
Perugia’s outside-hitter rotation has included players such as Wilfredo León, Oleh Plotnytskyi and, in later seasons, Yūki Ishikawa. The competition for places required Semeniuk to adapt to different combinations of teammates, attacking responsibilities and tactical approaches.
His first season in Italy brought immediate success. Perugia won the 2022 Italian SuperCup and the 2022 FIVB Club World Championship, giving Semeniuk his first international club world title. The team retained the Club World Championship in 2023, defeating Brazil’s Itambé Minas in the final.
Italy also presented different tactical challenges from the PlusLiga. SuperLega teams frequently place considerable emphasis on blocking systems, serve pressure and defensive organization. Semeniuk’s background as a receiving outside hitter helped him adjust to those demands while continuing to develop his attacking decisions against high-level opposition.

Italian Championship and European Success, 2023–2025
Perugia enjoyed a particularly successful 2023–24 season, winning the Italian Championship, Italian Cup and Italian SuperCup. Semeniuk was part of a squad that combined experienced international players with considerable attacking depth, and the Italian league title represented another major achievement in his club career.
He remained with Perugia through the following campaign, contributing to the team’s continued presence among Europe’s leading clubs. In 2024–25, Perugia won the CEV Champions League, defeating Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie in the final. The victory gave Semeniuk his third Champions League title, following his two earlier successes with ZAKSA.
The achievement also connected different stages of his career. Having first won Europe’s premier club tournament while playing in Poland, he later lifted the same trophy with an Italian team, demonstrating his ability to contribute within different competitive environments.
In December 2025, Perugia added another FIVB Club World Championship, completing an unbeaten campaign in Belém, Brazil. The Italian side defeated Osaka Bluteon 3–0 in the final after an earlier five-set meeting between the clubs during the group stage.
Semeniuk contributed 17 points in that group-stage victory over Osaka, including five blocks and an ace, and scored 13 points in the championship final. It was his third Club World Championship title with Perugia, following the club’s victories in 2022 and 2023.

National Team Career
Senior Debut and Early International Experience
Semeniuk made his senior debut for Poland in 2021, after his performances with ZAKSA had established him as a candidate for the national team. His first senior international appearance came against Belgium, beginning a period in which he would become a regular member of Poland’s outside-hitter group.
Poland entered this period with considerable depth in the position, including players capable of contributing through both attack and reception. Semeniuk’s combination of serving, passing and attacking provided the coaching staff with another option in different lineup configurations.
He was part of the Polish team that earned bronze at the 2021 European Championship and silver in the 2021 Volleyball Nations League. These results gave him early experience of international medal competitions and helped establish his place within a national program accustomed to competing for major titles.
2022 World Championship Silver Medal
The 2022 FIVB Men’s World Championship was Semeniuk’s first major global championship with Poland. Playing in front of home crowds during a tournament jointly hosted by Poland and Slovenia, he became an important contributor as the team advanced through the knockout rounds.
Poland reached the final against Italy after overcoming the United States in the quarterfinals and Brazil in the semifinals. Italy won the championship match in four sets, leaving Poland with the silver medal.
For Semeniuk, the tournament represented a major international breakthrough. His attacking efficiency, reception and defensive contributions complemented Poland’s powerful offense, and he was selected as one of the tournament’s Best Outside Hitters.
That recognition followed his Champions League MVP award earlier in the year and reinforced his standing among the leading outside hitters in international volleyball. In September 2022, he also received the CEV Men’s Volleyball Player of the Year award.
European Championship Gold and Nations League Success, 2023
Poland enjoyed another highly successful international season in 2023, winning both the Volleyball Nations League and the CEV European Championship.
The Nations League title came on home soil in Gdańsk, where Poland defeated the United States in the final. It was the national team’s first VNL gold medal under the competition’s current format, adding another important trophy to Semeniuk’s international record.
Later that year, Poland won the European Championship by defeating Italy in the final in Rome. The victory was particularly significant because Italy had beaten Poland in the previous year’s World Championship final.
Semeniuk was part of a Polish squad with several accomplished outside hitters, and his role depended on the tactical demands of individual matches. His ability to contribute in reception and serve pressure remained valuable in a team whose attacking options could be adjusted according to the opposition.
Paris 2024 Olympics: A Historic Silver Medal
At the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, Semeniuk helped Poland secure its first Olympic men’s volleyball medal since the country’s gold-medal triumph at Montreal 1976.
Poland reached the knockout stage and defeated Slovenia in the quarterfinals before overcoming the United States in a dramatic five-set semifinal. That victory ended a long wait for a place in an Olympic men’s volleyball final.
France defeated Poland in three sets in the gold-medal match, leaving the Polish team with silver. Although Poland fell short of the title, the result marked one of the most important achievements in the national team’s modern history.
Semeniuk was used as part of Poland’s outside-hitter rotation during the tournament, with responsibilities varying according to the team’s lineup and match situation. His Olympic appearance added another major achievement to a career that already included World Championship and European Championship medals.
Continued International Competition, 2025–2026
Semeniuk remained part of Poland’s international plans after Paris, competing in a national team that continued to combine experienced Olympic medalists with younger players.
In 2025, Poland won another Volleyball Nations League title, defeating Italy 3–0 in the final in Ningbo, China. Semeniuk contributed to the championship campaign, including the decisive first-set point in the final, as Poland secured its second VNL gold in three years.
He continued representing Poland in 2026. During the 2026 Nations League, Volleyball World recorded 51 points for him across seven matches, with 43 attack points, six block points and two service aces.
The numbers reflect an outside hitter whose responsibilities vary depending on Poland’s match selections. His national-team value is not limited to scoring totals: reception, backcourt coverage and the ability to enter different attacking combinations remain important elements of his role.
Playing Style & Strengths
Semeniuk is a six-rotation outside hitter, a position that requires an effective balance between attacking and first-contact responsibilities. His game is built around a combination of reliable serve reception, attacking versatility, defensive involvement and the ability to generate direct points from the service line.
Serve Reception and Backcourt Stability
One of Semeniuk’s most important qualities is his ability to participate in serve reception while continuing to function as a regular attacking option. Outside hitters are often targeted by opposing servers, particularly when an opponent wants to disrupt the attacking rhythm or force a predictable set.
Semeniuk has developed the passing skills needed to handle this responsibility in high-level club and international competition. His technique allows him to contribute within multi-player reception formations, helping the setter establish attacking options after the first contact.
Reception also affects how an outside hitter contributes in transition. After passing or defending, the player must recover quickly and prepare for a possible attack. Semeniuk’s ability to remain involved in these sequences is an important part of his all-around game.
His defensive positioning gives him an additional role when opponents attack into the backcourt. He can participate in the rally beyond the initial attack, covering teammates and helping turn defensive contacts into new offensive opportunities.
Wing Attacking and Shot Selection
As an outside hitter, Semeniuk attacks primarily from the left side of the court, although his responsibilities can vary according to the team’s rotation and offensive system.
His attacking game is not based solely on hitting at maximum power. He uses changes of direction, cross-court angles and attacks along the line, adjusting his decisions according to the opposing block and available space.
Against organized blocking systems, an outside hitter must often deal with imperfect sets. Semeniuk’s experience allows him to contribute in these situations, whether by seeking a direct point, using the block or choosing a controlled attacking option that keeps the rally alive.
His performances in major matches have demonstrated an ability to produce points under pressure. However, his role is also shaped by the presence of other attacking options, and he can contribute effectively without being the team’s highest-volume scorer.
Serving and Blocking
Semeniuk is capable of putting considerable pressure on opponents with his jump serve. His service performance during the 2021–22 Champions League season was particularly notable, including the six aces he recorded against Maribor in February 2022.
A strong serve can create several advantages even when it does not result in an ace. It may force an inaccurate first pass, reduce the opponent’s middle-attacking options or give the serving team a better opportunity to organize its block and defense.
At the net, Semeniuk contributes to the blocking structure as a front-row outside hitter. Although middle blockers carry the greatest specialized blocking responsibility, an outside hitter must close the block correctly, read attacking directions and coordinate with the team’s middle blocker.
His five blocks against Osaka Bluteon at the 2025 Club World Championship illustrated how his blocking can become an important source of points in individual matches.
Tactical Versatility
Semeniuk’s combination of reception and attacking ability makes him useful in different team structures. He can play alongside a more attack-oriented outside hitter or form part of a balanced reception formation in which both wing attackers share first-contact duties.
This flexibility has been important throughout his career, particularly at Perugia and with the Polish national team, where competition for outside-hitter positions has been strong.
His experience in both the PlusLiga and SuperLega has also exposed him to different serving styles, blocking systems and approaches to transition play. The result is a player whose contributions extend across multiple phases of a rally rather than depending on one specialized skill.
Major Achievements
Semeniuk has won major club and international titles across Poland, Italy and European volleyball. His career includes Olympic and World Championship medals, three CEV Champions League titles, three FIVB Club World Championships and individual recognition at major tournaments.

These awards reflected performances across both club and international competition rather than success in a single tournament. His subsequent titles with Perugia, including another Champions League victory in 2025, added to that record.
Personal Life & Relationships
Semeniuk has maintained a strong personal connection with Kędzierzyn-Koźle, the Polish city where he was born and began his professional volleyball career. His association with ZAKSA extended from his formative years into his emergence as a European champion, making the city an important part of both his personal and sporting background.
In August 2025, Semeniuk celebrated his wedding in Kędzierzyn-Koźle. The ceremony had originally been planned for 2024 but was postponed because of his participation in the Paris Olympic Games. Members of the local ZAKSA fan community also took part in the celebrations, reflecting the relationship he had maintained with supporters of his former club.
Although his professional career has taken him to Italy, his connection with his hometown remains a recognizable part of his public story. Much of his public profile continues to revolve around volleyball, including his responsibilities with Perugia and the Polish national team.

Perugia has remained a major destination in his career. With the Italian club, he has won the SuperLega championship, Italian Cup, Italian SuperCup, CEV Champions League and FIVB Club World Championship.
The club’s outside-hitter options have included prominent international players, creating considerable competition for places and allowing different lineups depending on tactical requirements. Semeniuk’s combination of reception, defense and attacking ability continues to make him a useful option within that structure.
At international level, he remains associated with the Poland men’s national team and appeared in the 2026 Volleyball Nations League.
