Indy Ignite has quickly become one of the central franchises in the current U.S. professional volleyball landscape. Based in Fishers, Indiana, the club plays at Fishers Event Center and represents a region with a strong high-school, club and college volleyball tradition. Ignite entered professional competition as an expansion team and soon established competitive credibility, including a 2026 regular season in which it set a league wins record. That performance helped move the franchise beyond the novelty stage and gave Central Indiana a team with clear expectations rather than simply a new event product.
Head coach Lauren Bertolacci is under a multi-year agreement that runs through 2029, giving Indy unusual leadership continuity as Major League Volleyball expands to 12 teams for 2027. The club also retained much of the core that performed strongly in 2026, reinforcing a culture built around development and roster stability. Fishers Event Center remains the team’s home, tying the professional side to a rapidly growing part of the Indianapolis metropolitan area. Ignite’s long-term identity is still young, but it is already defined by competitive ambition, a stable coach and a deliberate connection to Indiana’s large volleyball community. That combination gives the franchise a stronger base for continuity than is typical for a team still within its first few professional seasons.
