Inside LOVB Houston

LOVB Houston was part of League One Volleyball’s original professional group and quickly developed a competitive identity under Serbian coach Sanja Tomašević. Houston’s team has used the Fort Bend County EpiCenter and Berry Center as home venues, giving the franchise a presence across the wider metropolitan area rather than tying it to a single downtown building. Tomašević remains in charge for the 2026–27 cycle after guiding the club through LOVB’s first seasons, providing continuity in a league where several teams are entering new coaching eras or launching as expansion franchises.

The Houston market offers the club two important foundations: a large population and a substantial youth-volleyball community across southeast Texas. LOVB’s integrated model is designed to connect those young players with the professional game, so the local club is not isolated from the developmental side of the organization. Houston also formed early competitive rivalries with the other original teams, helping give LOVB a recognizable match calendar before later expansion. Its profile is therefore built on continuity rather than novelty—an established coach, repeated home competition and a growing local audience—while still participating in a league that is changing quickly around it. That steady local presence gives Houston a clearer institutional memory than a first-year expansion side can immediately reproduce.
