LOVB Salt Lake is one of the original professional teams around which League One Volleyball built its first national competition. Based in Utah, the club has developed a distinct place in LOVB Pro through a market with a strong youth and collegiate volleyball base and a fan culture that quickly embraced the league’s indoor product. The team has used SLCC’s Bruin Arena as its primary home venue and continues into the 2026–27 cycle under head coach Tama Miyashiro. Her background as a former United States national-team libero and international coach gives the program a direct link to the defensive and ball-control traditions that have defined much of American women’s volleyball.
Salt Lake’s significance is not tied to one result or one roster. It is part of LOVB’s broader attempt to connect elite professional volleyball with a national network of junior clubs, creating a pathway in which young athletes can see top-level players competing in the same ecosystem. The Utah franchise was present from the league’s opening professional phase and therefore carries more continuity than the expansion teams added later. Its identity has been built through regular home dates, recognizable international players and a coaching staff familiar with the U.S. system. As LOVB grows beyond its initial six markets, Salt Lake remains one of the reference points for how the league first established local professional roots.
