The Asian Volleyball Championship is AVC’s senior continental championship and, in 2026, also served as a direct route toward the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics and the 2027 FIVB Volleyball World Cup. Asian Championship 2026 at a Glance

How the 2026 Asian Championships Shaped LA28 and World Cup Qualification
The 2026 Asian Championships were more than continental title events. The champion in each gender earned Asia’s direct berth to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, while the medalists also secured places in the 2027 FIVB Volleyball World Cup.
Japan won the men’s title and Olympic berth at home, with Iran taking silver and South Korea winning a five-set bronze match against Australia. Ran Takahashi was named MVP, while Yuji Nishida led Japan in the final.

The 2026 Asian Championships featured 12 teams in each gender. The field was divided into three pools of four; the top two teams from each pool plus the two best third-place teams advanced to an eight-team quarterfinal bracket.
